Free and High-speed Internet Across the Board

British Airways revealed that the free, “reliable and lightning-fast” wifi provision through the satellite provider is set to be offered for travelers in coach, business, or premium cabins as of the coming month.

Expanded Rollout Over Various Airlines

The holding organization for British Airways, IAG, announced it had finalized an agreement involving SpaceX to offer connectivity coverage on more than 500 aircraft operated by its airlines, such as the Irish airline, Iberia, plus Vueling.

Uninterrupted Connectivity from Gate to Arrival

British Airways explained that the implementation of the technology formed part of a multi-billion pound “modernization” initiative that will offer uninterrupted connectivity service for travelers from boarding to arrival, even when in flight over oceans and remote regions.

Customers may link multiple devices while they will not require a special access code.

Current Internet Services

Limited internet service is currently provided for BA passengers across nearly all of their jets via its .air service.

Participants in BA’s loyalty club may transmit texts and plain-text emails in the air without paying, whereas flyers looking to access music, video, and films during their travel and are not flying in premium cabins can expect to be charged between £4.99 to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for a wifi plan.

Ongoing Improvements at BA

The airline's executive team has been striving to revitalize operations again following years with cost cutting, technology issues, labor disputes, and large-scale layoffs.
