Aircraft Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper flying near a well-attended California beach abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Footage uploaded on the internet capture the helicopter starting to spin above the shoreline then falling near the border of the beach, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a steps near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three people on the street were injured. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
